Herb Booth, owner of Reefline Scuba, has over 20 years of diving
experience and is the classroom instructor for all scuba classes. Reefline Scuba teaches NAUI scuba classes at the following locations:
Classes are limited to ten people per class. Basic sessions include pool and classroom time. Training normally consists of 6 sessions, once a week for six weeks. If necessary, and workable with the instructor, class schedules can be altered to suit certain needs. NAUI scuba classes are normally divided into two parts. Students start the training with classroom and confined water sessions. NAUI scuba classes typically take 6 nights to complete. After successfully completing this portion of the training, students must do 5 dives in an open water location. These can be completed in locations such as Cave Run Lake, Joe's Quarry near LaGrange, or the student may choose to go to Florida. The classroom and confined water sessions typically cost from $160 to $200 depending on the facility used. The open water dives cost $200 if done locally or $265 if done in Florida. This will include park entry fees for Ginnie Springs. Reefline Scuba provides all scuba equipment used for the classes and open water training. The student will need to furnish mask, fins, and snorkel by the second night of class. Reefline Scuba has these items for sale or rent. A student must be able to swim. There are certain medical conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and seizure disorders that are contradictory to diving. For information on these conditions go to http://www.naui.org. National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) was formed in 1960 and is one of the oldest, most respected scuba training agencies in the world. More information about NAUI can be found at http://www.naui.org . |
